Statement on Israel's airstrike on displaced persons' camp in Rafah

Haqooq-e-Khalq Party condemns the recent actions of the Israeli settler-colonial forces which have resulted in a devastating loss of life and widespread suffering among innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip. Last night’s airstrike on the displaced persons’ camp in Rafah is an appalling act of aggression, leading to numerous deaths and injuries, with many victims still trapped under the rubble. The Zionist occupation forces are conducting a systematic genocide, and the world leadership is complicit in this barbarity through their criminal silence. In particular, the role of the imperialist camp in providing material aid and diplomatic cover to the Zionist war-machine is to be noted – making a mockery of the rules-based order that countries like the US, Britain and Germany claim to support.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health has reported a staggering number of casualties, with 35,984 Palestinians killed and 80,643 injured since the onset of this conflict. The massacre of families and the targeting of densely populated areas, including a camp housing 100,000 displaced persons, is a blatant violation of international law and human rights. Moreover, the ongoing blockade and relentless bombardment have precipitated a catastrophic famine, with widespread starvation further compounding the misery of the besieged population. The intentional obstruction of medical and rescue teams from reaching those in need exacerbates the suffering and death toll, highlighting once again the inhumane nature of Israel’s actions.

Now is not the time for neutrality. The international community must intervene and hold Israel accountable for its egregious violations of international and humanitarian law. The scale of devastation and the deliberate targeting of civilians constitute acts of genocide that must not be ignored. We demand an end to Israel’s barbaric actions and for the protection and dignity of the Palestinian people.

In solidarity with the people of Palestine,

Statement on mob attack in Sargodha

We condemn in strongest terms the brutal incident in Sargodha, where a frenzied mob went on a violent rampage based on accusations of blasphemy. The attack on a Christian man’s home and shoemaking factory, as well as the assault on his son, are reprehensible acts that highlight the severe vulnerability of religious minorities in Pakistan. HKP believes that Pakistan’s longstanding policy of cultivating and appeasing extremist groups for political gains has backfired, leading to a society increasingly torn apart by intolerance.

We demand an impartial and thorough investigation into this heinous crime and call for the strictest possible punishment for those found responsible. Furthermore, we express our unwavering solidarity with our Christian brothers and sisters, who have endured unimaginable horror and fear due to these extremist actions. It is imperative to hold accountable those elements within the state apparatus that have contributed to the rise of extremism by fostering and appeasing these groups. Without such accountability and a decisive shift away from such policies, the social fabric of our society will continue to unravel, leading to more chaos and suffering.

Statement on the helicopter crash in Iran

Haqooq-e-Khalq Party is saddened by the tragedy resulting in the loss of President Ibrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hussain Amir-Abdollahian and their companions. The Party wishes to extend its sincere condolences and solidarity to the families of the departed souls and to the Iranian people in general.

On this occasion, we express our confidence that Iran and its people will continue to play a vital role in working towards regional peace and security, and uphold their principled stance opposing Zionist and imperialist aggression against Palestinians and others in the region.

Khalq Youth Front in Solidarity with Farmers

Khalq Youth Front, in solidarity with farmers of Punjab, staged a successful demonstration in front of the Punjab Assembly denouncing the failed policies of the Government. The caretaker government imported thousands of tons of wheat this year leaving the local farmers to fend off the brutal market themselves. The government promised to buy wheat stock but failed to procure any and since have turned it into a fight against their own farmers. Instead of owning up to their mistake and rectifying it, they are now using the corruption narrative to cover it up. The shamelessness of the government is only surpassed by their incompetence.
